AMG is partnering with a consumer products and entertainment company to hire a Contract Employment Attorney. This role will support the company's legal team in managing routine employment claims and litigation matters, providing day-to-day legal guidance on employment-related issues, and helping ensure continued coverage while the organization searches for a permanent hire. The company is open to attorneys with employer-side employment law experience or litigators with a strong employment law background.

Position Overview

• Location: San Fernando Valley, CA (Hybrid 4:1)
• Compensation: $82 - $101/hour, based on experience
• Duration: Contract; potential temp-to-hire
• Hours: Full-time preferred, though part-time candidates will also be considered

Position Responsibilities

• Managing employment claims and litigation matters from inception through resolution
• Handling wrongful termination, workers' compensation, discrimination, and other employment-related matters
• Drafting pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and other litigation filings
• Conducting legal research and developing case strategy
• Advising internal stakeholders on employment law issues and risk mitigation
• Managing case deadlines, court appearances, and overall matter progression
• Collaborating with internal teams and outside counsel to achieve favorable outcomes

Experience & Qualifications

• 6-10 years of employment law and/or litigation experience
• Active membership in the California State Bar
• Experience handling employment-related claims on the employer side
• Strong analytical, research, and writing skills
• Demonstrated ability to manage matters independently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and stakeholder relationship management skills
• Employment attorneys with litigation experience or litigators with employment law experience are encouraged to apply
